If you've asked yourself this question, you're in good company with women all over the world. The answer is here at Natural Childbirth 101 for you, if you're ready to embrace it.
You're on a journey of a lifetime as you grow your baby and become the best version of yourself during the pregnancy. The truth about birth is going to surprize you. The truth is.... babies come out. The fact is, they come out with or without anyone in the room IF...IF you are mentally and emotionally ready, your body and pelvis are flexible and fluid, baby is optimum position, hormones feeling safe to be powerful and you are trusting the process.
So why are there hospitals, doctors, and surgical rooms which 98% of babies being born there? Why is all this equipment, monitoring and people seemingly so needed"? Why are there full term infants in the neonatal intensive care units? Why do so many people fear birth? Why has birth become a problem event instead of a natural birth experience?
From the beginning of time and in most mammals today with the exception of humans, birth goes smoothly and instintivly. Mothers move and choose the position their body and baby are asking for. Their minds have not been filled with fear, worry and the concept that birth is dangerous. Their minds are not as evolved as humans. Humans are capable of learning, embracing and choosing what they want to think, feel, and the action they take. Unless they are scared into believing something is dangerous then humans have a fight or flight instinct too.
Because the perception of birth is different in a hospital setting, there are going to be interruptions, interventions, medications, unfamiliar people, and a focus on looking for a problem to solve. Pregnancy and birth are viewed as a condition, one to be on the look out continuously for problems. Pregnancy is the time to take charge and change this.
Pregnancy is where you begin to change your health, your mental view of growing your baby and definitely birthing your baby. This begins by noticing what you have been thinking about yourself, your life and your capabilities of giving birth normally, without all the gizzmos and gadgets. It's a matter of embracing a newness of yourself during pregnancy to think empowering thoughts, feel empowering feelings and use your words to remind yourself you are capable. Nature gave you the power to be capable. Now it's time to look at what you can do to increase the ability for nature to work at it's best.
Here are a few ways to evaluate and make a decision to grow it:
Nourish and Nurture the environment- your body, mind and spirit. Eating a whole food nutritious diet, movement everyday ( dance, walk, swim, yoga, stretching).
Notice your thoughts, feelings and words. PAUSE them when they are not what you want to create or have. Breath in through your nose and out like blowing out a straw. This signals your nervous system you are safe.
State what you REALLY want. Feel it as if it is real. Using words that are empowering and supportive. See it in your mind and then take an action step in this direction.
